Decoded transparency is carried through the intermediate PNG where the source and browser decoder provide it.
TIFF compression and PDF image encoding differ; converting frames to PNG can increase size for photographic scans.
Some are decoded by UTIF.js, but unusual color profiles may render differently in the browser.
