What size is used for US Letter PDF pages?

Portrait pages use 612 by 792 PDF points, equivalent to 8.5 by 11 inches.

Will landscape pages become portrait after resizing?

No. Landscape source pages are placed on landscape Letter sheets.

Does resizing to Letter crop page content?

No. The whole source page is scaled proportionally to fit.

Can I resize a PDF made from scans?

Yes. Scanned page images are retained inside the newly created Letter pages.

Will interactive form fields be preserved?
