Finding the changes that are easy to miss by eye
PDF comparison is most useful near the end of a workflow, when two files look almost identical but small differences matter. A revised contract may have one changed clause, a generated report may lose a chart, or a print export may shift a footer by a few millimeters. Comparison and QA tools help narrow the review so you can focus on changed pages, text, dimensions, or other document properties instead of rereading everything from scratch.
For reliable comparisons, make sure you are comparing like with like. Different scanners, export settings, or font rendering can create harmless visual differences that hide the changes you actually care about. When possible, compare files produced from the same source process and review flagged differences in context rather than treating every mismatch as an error.
