Adding useful page elements without cluttering the document
Editing and branding tools are helpful for adding the finishing touches that make a PDF easier to identify and distribute: page numbers, headers, footers, labels, stamps, watermarks, dividers, and other visible marks. The goal is usually not to redesign the whole document, but to add information that stays consistent across many pages and survives sharing outside the original editing software.
Keep additions restrained. A watermark that is too dark can make text hard to read, while a footer placed too close to existing content may overlap when the page is printed. For client-facing or official documents, check a few different page types—cover, dense text page, landscape page, and appendix—before applying the same mark to the entire file.
