How to use this PDF tool
- Select a PDF file.
- Set the page range and section naming.
- Choose Split by Bookmarks and wait for processing to finish.
- Review the statistics, then download the ZIP archive.
Split a PDF at its top-level bookmarks and download the sections together as a ZIP. Bookmark titles become safe file names.
The tool reads top-level outline destinations, resolves each destination page, and copies the page interval up to the next bookmark.
The PDF must contain resolvable bookmarks. Nested bookmarks are grouped under their top-level parent in this browser version.
Input must be a valid PDF readable by the browser libraries. Processing capacity depends on page complexity and available device memory.
| Input | Output |

| Encrypted PDF | Not supported |
No. The selected files are read and processed by JavaScript in your browser. The page does not send the PDF contents to a processing server.
No. Remove the password with the document owner's permission before using this tool. Encrypted or damaged files may be rejected by the PDF libraries.
Some PDFs only display a visual table of contents and contain no outline destinations. This splitter requires actual PDF bookmarks that resolve to pages.
PDF processing uses device memory. Very long documents, complex vector pages, and high-resolution visual comparisons can exceed the memory available to the browser tab.
A current desktop version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari is recommended. Keep the tab open until the output download becomes available.
