What this tool does

Pages are copied alternately from the two selected documents. If one PDF is longer, its remaining pages can continue at the end.

Output sequence = A1, B1, A2, B2 … until both selected page lists are exhausted.

No. The selected files are read and processed by JavaScript in your browser. The page does not send the PDF contents to a processing server.
