Choosing the right format when moving between PDF and images
Image conversion is useful when a PDF page needs to become a preview, thumbnail, web asset, or image-based archive, or when several images need to be packaged into a PDF. Resolution and format matter more than they first appear. A low-resolution page image may look fine as a small preview but become unreadable when someone zooms in, while oversized images can make a newly created PDF unnecessarily large.
Think about the destination before converting. PNG is often a good fit for diagrams, screenshots, and text-heavy pages; JPEG is usually more compact for photographs. When building a PDF from images, put the files in the intended order first and use consistent dimensions or orientation where possible so the finished document does not jump between wildly different page sizes.
